Frequently Asked Questions
How is Functional Medicine different from Conventional Medicine?
Conventional medicine is life-saving, essential, and has a vital role in healthcare. Functional Medicine doesn’t replace it—it builds on it. Conventional medicine often focuses on diagnosing and prescribing based on symptoms. Functional Medicine looks at why those symptoms are happening—often identifying patterns and root causes that get overlooked. We aim to restore function, not just manage disease.
Do you accept commercial insurance?
Due to the personalized approach and length of time that is dedicated to each client, insurance is not accepted. A superbill will be available in the client portal after each visit.
HSA and FSA are accepted and can often be used to pay for many of our services, including consultations, lab testing, and certain supplements—depending on your plan.
Please note: It is the responsibility of the client to submit the superbill.
Do you accept Medicare?
At this time, we do not accept Medicare or bill Medicare for our services. We are working through these hurdles and Functional Medicine care is typically not covered under Medicare guidelines.
Do you offer a referral credit?
Yes, if you refer a family member or friends, you will receive a credit on your account for $50.
In what states do you see clients?
Currently only those who are in Pennsylvania during their visit, either virtual or in-person.
Can you prescribe medications?
Yes. As a licensed Nurse Practitioner in Pennsylvania, I am authorized to prescribe medications when clinically appropriate. However, our focus is on using medications judiciously and supporting your body with lifestyle, nutrition, and natural therapies whenever possible.
Will you be my primary care provider?
No, not at this time. However, you can continue to see our practitioner long-term for health maintenance. We will work alongside your existing PCP or specialist to support your health with a functional, root-cause approach.
Do you treat acute conditions?
For acute health issues, please contact your Primacy Care Provider. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please go directly to the Emergency Department.
